About Us
Strelna Lake Wilderness Bible Camp, a ministry of Copper Center Community Chapel, is a non-denominational Christian camp run entirely by volunteers and supported by donations from fellow believers like you. The trailhead to camp is located near mile 10 on the road to McCarthy, Alaska. After a mile and a half walk through the woods you arrive at beautiful Strelna Lake.
Construction of the camp began in 1997, through the combined efforts of Pastor Mike Potts, other local volunteers, teenagers, and LightShine ministries. Fifteen years later, many of these teenagers have become Moms and Dads and we are blessed to teach their children.
In 1997, rustic bunkhouses were constructed in the old style from materials gathered around camp. In 1998, volunteer work teams built two more cabins using the first cabin's 12' X 13' design of Pastor Mike Potts. In 1999, the 12' X 16' cook shack and the six-sided chapel were constructed. The last cabin was built in 2000 along with two outhouses and a swimming platform.
The camp is used for two to four weeks in the summer for teaching and discipling youth who live in the Copper River Basin. Our ministry brings in children from the native villages of Kluti-Kaah, Tazlina, Chitina, Gulkana and also occasionally the communities of Glennallen, Copper Center, Kenny Lake, Anchorage and other locations around the state.
There is no charge to attend camp. We place our hope in God for donations to meet the needs of the campers. Your support is vital to the continued operation of camp and donations are accepted. All camp operations (food, maintenance, and additional camp supplies) now come entirely from donations by people who share in the hope that everyone will come to know Christ as their Savior. Praise God.

`We believe...
in one God, Creator of heaven and earth ; eternal, almighty, infallible, and unchangeable, infinitely wise, just and holy. He eternally exists and manifests Himself to us in three persons- the father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Gen. 1:1, 1:26; Ex. 3:13-14; Matt. 28:19-20; John 1:1)
in Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, the eternal word manifested in the flesh. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and is true God and true man. He took the penalty of mans sins on the cross. His body was resurrected; He ascended into heaven, and will personally and premillennially return for His church, then come in glory to establish His Kingdom. (Matt. 1: 18-27, 25:1-10: Luke 1:26-35; John 3:1-16, 5:24; Acts 1:9, 4:12; 1 Thess.. 4:13-18; Rev. 19:11-21, 20:1-6)
in the Holy Spirit as the third person of the Trinity. His work is to convict men of sin, to regenerate, indwell, and set the believer apart from salvation to a holy life, and to keep and empower the believer day to day. He is the teacher of God's Word, and our guide for daily life.(John 3:5-6, 14:17, 16:13; Rom. 8:9; 1 Cor. 6:19)
in the whole Bible, consisting of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments. It is verbally inspired by God, without error in its original writings, and the only source of revelation from God. It is the final and supreme authority for faith and life. (2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:3, 1:20-21; Jude 3.)
man was created pure and in the image of God. He fell from innocence by his own sin. Therefore, all have sinned and are guilty, lost and absolutely incapable of saving themselves by their own works. (Gen. 1:26, 2:17; Rom.3:23, 5:12, 6:23.)
we are saved soley by grace through faith in the blood sacrifice, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. (John3:1-16; Titus 3:5)
in the eternal security and everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the eternal judgement and punishment of all who reject our Lord Jesus Christ (John 14:16-17; Eph. 1:13; Rom. 8:28-30; Rev. 20:11-15)
Satan is a person, the author of the fall, and he shall be eternally punished. (Ezek. 28:13-19; Is. 14:12-14; 1 Peter 5:8; Rev. 20:11-15.)
in the bodily resurrection of all men, the saved to eternal life, and the lost to judgement and everlasting punishment. (1 Cor. 15:12-19; Rev. 20:11-15.)
the two practices of the local church are the Lord's Supper and Baptism. (Matt. 28:19-20; Mark 16:15; Rom.15:15-16.)
all who are saved are given a new nature which causes them to desire to turn from sin toward righteous living. This is repentance. (2 Cor. 5:17; John 8:11; 1 Thess. 1:9.)
